My mood boosting cure- alls

When the inevitable bad day occurs there are a few cure-alls that are sure fire mood-boosters to my spirit. Among these are, ART + FASHION.

Sometimes I pinch myself when I gaze at Jean Shin’s glorious Meta Cloud masterpiece. If you aren’t familiar and are interested, please feel free to check out “The Return of Hope”. On my most uninspired days, I can get lost in this from both a conceptual and historical standpoint. I’m reminded to always remain open to expression and to continually evolve.

And then, there’s Red. Yes I said…Red.

It’s the perfect color to lift the vibes of February’s gloomy skies. Aside from enriching numerous cultures with vast meanings and symbolism, it’s no surprise that red is universally emblematic of LOVE and passion which makes it the perfect representation for all things Valentines Day. Fun fact: The color red is on the longer end of the visible spectrum of light with a dominant wavelength of 62-750 nanometers (about 20 feet).

Personally, I love red because it makes me feel vibrant while simultaneously lifting my spirit.

This crimson knit Balmain skirt with zipper detailing down the front is no longer available but I was able to locate this similar version in black with gold button detailing which I also love!. I find the length very feminine and versatile for outfits with boots, a pump or even a funky sneaker!

My tried + true Basquiat themed leather jacket by Alice + Olivia provides versatility yet again as it did while featured here and here over the years and… what better way to wear art!.

I layered the metallic Majestic Filatures turtleneck which we also showed with this look and Jimmy Choo chocolate suede Romy 85 suede pumps. The chunky gold on this Bottega Vanetta chain pouch leather clutch and the thick gold cuff bracelet from Alexis Bittar are the perfect compliments to the gold detailing in my skirt and adds a bit of anchoring to the entire look.

My “necklace” is actually leftover chandelier chain that I repurposed into this industrial looking jewelry. I think Jean Shin would be proud!

What are your mood busters that lift you up?

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
