The rules are...there are no rules!

Growing up, there were certain rules associated with fashion. One of the hard and fast ones that I remember most was that nobody - and I mean nobody - wore white after Labor Day and before Memorial Day.

Today things are thankfully less confined, and freedom of expression prevails in so many areas of life, whether its in fashion, art, film, music etc. The rules are….there are no rules!

If it were the 1970’s again, I would not be wearing my favorite white denim distressed Le Color Rip Frame Jeans in February, or this salmon colored Men’s Gap denim shirt - tied and worn backwards even! Yet, here we are, and I am. This should be no surprise to those of you who read this blog and have grown accustomed to me wearing things in an unexpected way!

I’ve layered a wonderfully retro patterned blazer by Dries Van Noten over the salmon men’s shirt. The salmon and teal accents in the print are so reminiscent of the 80’s and pull from the shirt and my beloved salmon suede Manolo Blahnik Arriga mules.

Like last week, I layered multiple colorful beaded necklaces along with fun acrylic bangles and my everyday jewelry to add a little bit extra to the look.

What ‘rules’ do you like to break? I promise not to tell!

XO

Kathleen
