Got Boxes? DIY Seasonal Ice Bucket!
IMG_7342.JPG

My amazingly talented friend Amanda made these fabulous decorative ice buckets for me which I’m planning to use at a party I’m hosting. They are perfect for dinner parties, hostess gifts or holiday entertaining and I love how each one has its own gorgeous array of citrus, cranberries, glitter and greens. I’m sharing Amanda’s process with you in case you want to try yourself! THANK YOU AMANDA!

Supplies:

  • A cardboard wine box container or 2 liter soda bottle

  • Distilled water

  • scissors

  • citrus slices (lemons, tangerines, grapefruit, limes etc)

  • cranberries

  • Greens (Rosemary, Mint, holly etc)

  • your favorite bottle of cheer!

  • glitter

Amanda starts by boiling distilled water and then allowing it to cool.

She then pours glitter to the bottom of her container with a little bit of distilled water, her selected fruit/berries/greens and freezes that to create her glitter layer.

One that’s frozen, Amanda adds more citrus/berries/greens to the container, and then spoons in more of the distilled water until the container is full. She then places the container back into the freezer until the entire container/mixture is frozen.

Finally, Amanda removes the cardboard outer layer and viola! Her beautiful creations are ready to serve!

If you want a larger “ice bucket” you can use a 2 liter soda bottle with the top cut off and follow the same procedure.

Thank you Amanda for the beautiful additions to my celebration and as always, your friendship!
